The Story
Why Placencia
December in Placencia means swapping the winter chill for a relaxed, barefoot Caribbean village. The weather is transitioning into the dry season, bringing warm sunshine and brief tropical showers that clear the air. Weekdays follow a slow, unhurried rhythm as you walk along the narrow sidewalk to beachside spots or gather on the sand with other members after work.
Mornings are for focused work with a reliable connection, followed by active breaks to break up the day. You can grab a sea kayak right from the beach, support local coffee shops along the peninsula during a morning work crawl, or join a sunrise beach run before the tropical sun gets too hot.
Since Placencia sits on a narrow peninsula, deep jungle treks and ancient ruins require some travel time. Instead of exhausting day trips, we cluster these into full weekend expeditions. You can spend your Saturdays and Sundays diving the southern barrier reef, climbing inside the Actun Tunichil Muknal caves, or crossing the border to explore the towering pyramids of Tikal.

A Day With The Flock
Daily Rhythm
A typical Tuesday begins with a beach run at sunrise, followed by a casual co-working coffee crawl along the village. After a productive morning of meetings, you can take a sea kayak out on the calm waters right in front of the peninsula. As the workday ends, head to the western side of the village at dusk to watch the sunset over the lagoon with the Maya Mountains in the distance, then meet up for a weekly community seafood dinner.
